Buma Cultuur Pop Award

The Buma Cultuur Pop Award has been presented each January since 1986, during the showcase festival Noorderslag, which is part of the European Music Conference and Showcase Festival Eurosonic Noorderslag in Groningen.[1]

The Pop Award is presented to a person or artist for making the most outstanding contribution to Dutch pop music of the past year.[1] At the start the award was presented under the name “BV Popprijs”. Buma Cultuur is an organization which encourages and promotes Dutch music, supported by the Dutch music rights foundation Buma/Stemra.[2]
