Buford High School is a public four year comprehensive high school located in Buford, Georgia USA, in the northern Metro Atlanta area.
History
The school was opened in 1948. In 2009, Buford was awarded a silver award for Highest Percentage of Students Meeting and Exceeding Standards. The award is given by the State of Georgia Governor's Office of Achievement. The school has a student to teacher ratio of 15 to 1.
Academics
The school, for the 2010-2011 school year, had the highest passing rate in the Georgia Graduation Test, with 96% passing. Buford also ranks in the top 6% of students who pass AP courses.
Literary meet
The literary team at Buford High School has won eleven Georgia High School Association State Literary Championships (1976, 1980, 1982, 1985, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013).[1]
