The Buffalo Fire Department (BFD) provides fire protection and basic life support first responder emergency medical services to the city of Buffalo, New York, United States. The Buffalo Fire Department currently serves a population of over 260,000 people in a geographic area of approximately 42 square miles (110 km2).[1]
Operations
Fire Station Locations and Companies
The Buffalo Fire Department operates out of nineteen fire stations, located throughout the city and organized into four battalions. Operating out of these nineteen fire stations are nineteen engine companies, nine ladder companies, one rescue company, one fireboat, and other special and support units.[2]
Fire Headquarters is located at 175 Court St.
The BFD Communications, or Dispatch Office is located at 332 Ellicott St.
