Buddleja davidii 'Fromow's Purple' is a British cultivar released circa 1945 by the Fromow Nursery of Windlesham, Surrey.[1]
Description
'Fromow's Purple' is a vigorous shrub producing large terminal panicles of deep purple flowers;<ref name=Gardener's>Gardener's Chronicle, Vol. 160, 1966.</ref> it also enjoys a prolonged flowering season.[2]
Cultivation
'Fromow's Purple' initially enjoyed much popularity, but was eclipsed by more exotic cultivars such as 'Ile de France',[3] and is now uncommon in cultivation. The cultivar was not listed in the 2011 - 2012 edition of the RHS Plantfinder, and is probably no longer in commerce. 'Fromow's Purple' is not known to have been introduced to North America.
