Bryan Andrew Young (born 3 November 1964 in Whangarei) is a cricketer who has played 35 Tests and 74 One Day Internationals for New Zealand. He is a right-handed batsman who scored over 3,700 international runs in total, including a test-best of 267 not out against Sri Lanka. His other notable performance in Tests was 120; which came in the fourth innings of the Christchurch Test against Pakistan in 1994 in which New Zealand successfully reached the stiff target of 324. In that innings, he and Shane Thomson shared 154 runs partnesrship for the fifth wicket. He was an occasional wicket-keeper and lower order batsman for Auckland and Northern Districts cricket teams in his domestic career, he reinvented himself as an opening batsman prior to his international debut.
