Bruce Gandy is a Canadian solo bagpipe player.
Career
He was born on 10 August 1962 in Victoria, British Columbia, to Frances and Ray Gandy.[1]
Bruce joined the City of Victoria Pipe Band under James Troy at the age of 12 in 1974, and played with the band for eight years.[1] After that, he played with the 78th Fraser Highlanders Pipe Band for 15 years, including a World Champion win in 1987.[2]
He won the Gold Medal at the Northern Meeting in 2002, and in 2003 won the Gold Medal at the Argyllshire Gathering as well as the Bratach Gorm.[2][3][4] He has also won the Metro Cup in New York six times.[4]
Compositions
Gandy is also a prolific composer of tunes.[5]
