Trivia
- Both Davis and Steve Grogan, another NFL player who played between 1975 and 1990 for the New England Patriots, share their names with two members of the infamous Manson Family, members of which murdered at least nine people in four separate incidents in 1969. Both men received life terms, with Grogan paroled in 1985 after cooperating with the law.
- Davis's son (also named Bruce) is a former All-American defensive end at UCLA, and a former player for the Oakland Raiders.
