Brownlow North (1741–1820) was a bishop of the Church of England.

Life

He was a half-brother to Frederick North, Lord North, both being sons of Francis North, 1st Earl of Guilford.[1][2]

He was educated at Eton College and Trinity College, Oxford, graduating B.A. in 1762. He became a Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford in 1763.[3]

He was a canon of the 4th prebend of Christ Church, Oxford (1768–1770) and Dean of Canterbury (1770–1771).[4]

He became Bishop of Lichfield in 1771, Bishop of Worcester in 1774, and Bishop of Winchester in 1781.[3]

Francis North, 6th Earl of Guilford was his son.[5] The 19th century evangelist, also named Brownlow North[6] was his grandson.
