The Brotherhood Without Violence is a movement within the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.[1] It was established on 10 July 2013 by approximately 500 young members of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood,[1] though it has since expanded to about 1,400 members.[3] The founder of the group is Ahmed Yahia.[4] The media spokesman is Hussein Abdel Rahman.[5] The members have called for new elections to be held to the guidance bureau of the Brotherhood.[1] The Brotherhood Without Violence movement has backed Hamdeen Sabahi in the 2014 Egyptian presidential election.[6] The logo of the group replaces the swords in the Muslim Brotherhood logo with olive branches.[7] The group will run in the 2015 Egyptian parliamentary election as part of the Islamic Alliance to Support Egypt.[2]
