Brooks-DeBartolo Collegiate High School

Brooks-DeBartolo Collegiate High School is a charter school in Tampa, Florida, founded with support from NFL player Derrick Brooks. It is part of the Hillsborough County Public Schools system.[1]

Brooks–DeBartolo Collegiate High School is a college preparatory school serving students in grades 9-12 in Tampa, FL. The school opened its doors during the 2007-2008 academic school year. The school is located in the Seminole Heights community.

History

Derrick Brooks co-founded the school along with the DeBartolo Family Foundation. During its first year the school served 183 students in grades 9-11. The school has graduated 100% of all eligible to date. The school enrollment for 2013-2014 is 430 with a waiting list for 9th and 12th grade. Students have been accepted into schools over the nation including Harvard University, University of South Florida, and University of Florida and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
