The Brisbane Hebrew Congregation, a modern Orthodox shul, is the largest Jewish organisation in Queensland & its synagogue, the Brisbane Synagogue on Margaret Street is the oldest in the state.

History

The Congregation was formed in 1885 and the synagogue was founded in 1886.[1] Unlike other synagogues in Australia at the time, the synagogue has always operated primarily in English.[2]
