Brentwood Academy is a college preparatory school with a campus located in Brentwood, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville. Brentwood Academy is a coeducational, independent, college-preparatory school.
Fine Arts
Brentwood Academy's Fine Arts department includes classes such as forensics, chorus, band, theatre arts, and set design and construction. There are also three fine arts productions a year (excluding various dance recitles, chorus concerts, band concerts, and talent shows). From these three productions come a fall play (of which is usually a classic such as "The Man Who Came to Dinner," "The Matchmaker," "The Curious Savage," "Cheaper by the Dozen," and "The Diary of Anne Frank." These productions are also performed by the high school), a middle-school play (of which is usually a famous story such as "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe," "Tom Sawyer," "Alice in Wonderland," "Peter Pan," and "Holes"), and an upper-school musical of which will sometimes include middle-schoolers. Some previous performances of musicals include "Oklahoma," "Into the Woods," "Guys and Dolls," "Oliver!," "Once on This Island," "The Sound of Music," "Grease," and "Hairspray."
The Fine Arts department lists accomplishments including: numerous national and regional forensics awards, artists placing in various competitions, the honors band talent winner performance, the choir, and the theater's productions. Some performances of the theater include: Our Town, Evita, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Juiceboxes, and Cats.
