Brent Weeks (born March 7, 1977) is an American fantasy writer. He made The New York Times Best Seller list with The Blinding Knife in its first month, September 2012.[1]
Life
Weeks was born in Montana on March 7, 1977 and graduated from Hillsdale College with a degree in English. He briefly worked as a teacher and bartender before moving to writing full-time.[2] Orbit Books published his first novel in 2008; The Way of Shadows is also the first book in Weeks' The Night Angel Trilogy,[3][4] which has been printed in 10 different languages; the Way of Shadows is also scheduled to be adapted into a graphic novel by Yen Press.[5]
The first book in his Lightbringer Series was released in 2010.[6] Originally intended to be a trilogy, his publishers announced in 2012 that it would span four books,[7] the third of which was released in August 2014.
Weeks lives and works in Oregon.
