Brent James

Brent James is the professional name of Brent James Grunow, an American rock musician and songwriter. He was born in Saginaw, Michigan. Shortly after graduation, Brent moved to New York City to pursue a music career where he formed the post punk band MYTVS. Brent was also a founding member of The Flask, that included Kid Rock guitarist Kenny Olson and Puddle of Mudd Drummer Shannon Boone.^[1] In 2009, Brent was introduced to Grammy Award Winning Producer Skidd Mills with whom he signed to SkiddCo Records and began recording his debut album "Moment of Silence" in Nashville, TN with Brent James and the Contraband. SkiddCo Records released "Moment of Silence" on August 2nd 2011. The debut single "Moment of Silence" appeared on the national Hot AC (Adult Contemporary) radio chart.^[2][3] Brent has toured and shared the stage with Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent, Stone Temple Pilots, O.A.R., Kid Rock, Buckcherry, Chevelle, Candlebox, Train and many others. On July 5th 2010 Brent signed a publishing deal with Primary Wave Music Publishing. He has also performed on the CBS Early Show.^[1] Brent currently fronts Brent James and the Vintage Youth and performed at the Bunbury Music Festival in Cincinnati, OH in July 2014.^[4]

James has also appeared in film and TV and officially joined the Screen Actors Guild/Aftra Union in 2006 after appearing as the bar tender in Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist. He also appeared as Degan McNeil on NBC’s Lipstick Jungle staring Brooke Shields. Other notable TV appearances: include Law & Order SVU, 3rdWatch, The Sopranos, and Life On Mars. Film appearances include: Sex & The City -The Movie, Fighting, Motherhood, Across The Universe. Also, artists I toured with: Daughtry, Huey Lewis and Robin Trower for the list.

On January 27th, Brent James & The Vintage Youth recorded their song "Sorry" at Sun Studios in Memphis Tennessee. The song was produced by Brian Craddock of Daughtry.
