Plot

Homeland Security Agent Don Self (Michael Rapaport) and his group of Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies), Fernando Sucre (Amaury Nolasco), Alexander Mahone (William Fichtner) and Brad Bellick (Wade Williams) arrive at an abandoned warehouse in the port in Los Angeles, where they are to track down Scylla. The airline requires that the convicts be fitted with GPS ankle monitors, and the group is to follow Self's orders. In the warehouse, they are introduced to a new member of their team, Roland Glenn (James Hiroyuki Liao), a computer hacker and identity thief who will assist them. They are also given everything they want at their disposal. While searching, Mahone tells the group that James Whistler (Chris Vance) was to drop the card to a high-level mansion, owned by Stuart Tuxhorn (Steve Tom). Mahone also knows the group that Tuxhorn's driver was formerly in the military, which narrows down the possible identities of the driver enough so that Mahone is able to identify him from a picture. The group works on a distraction to obtain the card. Roland has a plan using a wireless hard drive he invented that downloads the information of any data with close proximity. They track down the driver and follow him. Sucre and Bellick intentionally has Tuxhorn's car crash into them, and Sucre argues with the driver trying to get within close proximity of the card if Tuxhorn has it with him. However, Roland gets no signal, which means the card must be in the house.

Later, the group plans to retrieve the information through the maximum security mansion. Sara manages to sneak the hard drive into Tuxhorn's maid's handbag. When she enters the house, Michael phones her, claiming to be from the home's security company and asks her to check all the windows. Fortunately for the group, she carries her purse with her as she makes her way through the house. Michael instructs her to check the library, where Roland gets a signal, and asks her to stay there for a while, allowing Roland to finish copying the data in Scylla. After the job is completed, Bellick and Mahone stage a mock robbery to get the maid's purse. However, as they meet out of the maid's sight, Mahone cannot find the drive and is forced to return the purse empty-handed. The group realizes that the maid must have thought the device belonged to her boss and put it back in Tuxhorn's office. Because Roland needs the drive to decrypt the data he copies, Michael and the team have to break in and retrieve it. Lincoln and Sucre set off the alarm across the street, to distract the guards. During this time, Tuxhorn turns off his alarm to go outside and investigate. This allows Mahone and Michael to enter the house, where Michael finds the device near the front door. As they are leaving, Mahone sees a picture of a young boy that reminds him of his murdered son and pauses momentarily, overcome with emotion, but he and Michael both soon slip out just before Tuxhorn resets his alarm.

Meanwhile, Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell (Robert Knepper) is left abandoned by his transporters with his companion Sancho in the middle of the empty desert. When T-Bag lies down to rest with Sancho, Sancho suddenly turns on him, trying to kill him for food. T-Bag stops him just in time, and in the ensuing struggle T-Bag unintentionally pushes Sancho down onto a sharp rock and kills him. Frustrated by his companion's death, T-Bag apparently eats his body in order to survive. He later encounters two Americans on all-terrain vehicles who offers him a lift to San Diego. Once he reaches his destination, he opens Whistler's safe, which contains a fake ID to a Gate corporation. He then heads to Los Angeles with his new-found information to find Michael. Meanwhile, Wyatt (Cress Williams) discovers that the group are not in jail as Self had deliberately misled him to believe, and finds out that Bruce Bennett (Wilbur Fitzgerald) posted their bail. Wyatt enters Bennett's home when he is not home, and suddenly walks up behind him when he returns, threateningly asking where Lincoln and Michael are. When Bennett does not answer, Wyatt injects a substance into him that causes him to pass out. It is also revealed that Gretchen Morgan (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) is in fact alive and being held captive, apparently under torture.

Back in the port, Roland decrypts the data, but realizes the information is incomplete. Deducing from an excerpt from The Odyssey left behind by Lincoln and Michael's father about a necessary sacrifice of six men by Odysseus to pass the monster Scylla, Michael realizes that Scylla is actually made up of six cards being held by different people. The group becomes frustrated by this revelation that there are five more cards. At the end, Michael finds out in the restroom that his nose is bleeding and becomes worried, but hides it from his brother.
