Brad Takairangi, of Cook Island Maori and Māori descent,[1] is a rugby league player for the Parramatta Eels of the National Rugby League. He previously played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the Toyota Cup, and the Sydney Roosters in first grade. Takairangi is a utility player, having filled roles at five-eighth, lock, second row, and currently, centre.

Takairangi signed with the Titans on a three-year-deal on 5 February, as part of an attempt by the Sydney Roosters to lure Luke O'Donnell back to the National Rugby League in Bondi colours.

On 19 September 2014, Takairangi agreed to sign a 3-year deal with the Wests Tigers starting from the 2015 season.[2][3] However, the Tigers back-flipped on Takairangi's deal, leaving him off contract for the 2015 season. On 30 October 2014, Takairangi signed with the Parramatta Eels on a 1-year deal for the 2015 season.[4]

On 4 April 2015, Takairangi re-signed with the Eels on a 2-year contract.[5]

Representative career

In 2009, he made his international debut for the Cook Islands 22-20 defeat of Samoa, kicking 3 conversions.[6]

Brad played for 'the Kukis' at the 2013 Rugby League World Cup
