Brad R. Torgersen (born April 6, 1974) is an American science fiction author and US Army Reserve Warrant Officer[1]. He was a winner of the 2009 Writers of the Future contest,[2] and has been published in Analog Science Fiction and Fact and InterGalactic Medicine Show. His 2010 novelette "Outbound" won the Analog reader's poll,[3] and his 2011 novelette "Ray of Light" was nominated for both the Nebula Award[4] and the Hugo Award.[5] He was also a nominee for the 2012 John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer. He acquired two nominations for the 2014 Hugo Awards, for “The Chaplain's Legacy” (novella) and “The Exchange Officers” (novelette).[6]
