History

Organization

The Bowie City Police Department is a semi-independent police department from the Prince George's County Police Department. However it still requires some specialized assistance from the Prince George's County Police. The agency is projected to be a full service police department with K-9, a Detective Bureau, and Specialized Teams within the next few years.[4]
