Bovina is an unincorporated community in Lincoln County, Colorado, United States. The ZIP Code of Bovina (80818) is held at the Genoa Post Office.[4]

History

The town of Bovina was established by the Union Pacific Railroad about 1886. The town used to be a bustling center until the great depression. After that, the town was reduced to a small community. It declined and it became a small unincorporated community consisting of an abandoned motel, abandoned restaurant building, a gas station with mini-market and homes in the area.

Geography

Bovina is located at 39°17′8″N 103°16′32″W / 39.28556°N 103.27556°W (39.285589, -103.275624).[5] Bovina is located on the old US 24 highway. Just off Interstate 70 at exit 376, and along the Union Pacific Railroad line between Limon and Burlington. It is located approximately 7 miles E of Genoa and 8 miles W of Arriba. The town is located on an unnamed creek. Recently, homes have been constructed in the town's area.
