Boston Borough Council election, 2015

Elections for Boston Borough Council, which covers the Borough of Boston, are due to be held on Thursday 7 May 2015.[1] Following recent changes to the ward boundaries, 30 councillors will be elected from 15 wards. This is on the same day as other local elections.

Composition of council seats before election

After the 2011 election, 19 councillors were Conservatives, 4 were Boston Bypass Independents, 4 were Independents, 3 were Labour and 2 were English Democrats. Since then, the 4 Boston Bypass Independents have changed their alignment to ‘Independent’. Two Conservative councillors have become ‘unaligned’. One English Democrat resigned and UKIP won the subsequent by-election. One Conservative councillor died in office and UKIP won the subsequent by-election. The two elected UKIP councillors later defected to the Lincolnshire Independents.
