Boston Baptist College is a Bible college located between Hyde Park and Milton, Massachusetts.[2]

History

Boston Baptist was founded in 1976 by A.V. Henderson and John Rawlings of Baptist Bible Fellowship International as Baptist Bible Institute East at Shrub Oak, New York. In 1981, the school moved to its present location in Boston. At the time of the move, the school was considered a branch campus of Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. Beginning in 1993, the school began operating as a separate entity and ceased being a branch campus of Baptist Bible College in Springfield. In 2002, the name was changed from Baptist Bible College East to Boston Baptist College. Officially, the name was changed in order to distance the College from other universities throughout the country that operated under the name of Baptist Bible college, although the name was also taken to reflect its location.

Academics

Boston Baptist offers BA and AA degrees in Biblical Studies.[3] Boston Baptist is not regionally accredited, but has been accredited by the Transnational Association of Christian Schools (TRACS), since 1996.[4]

Campus life

The campus is equipped with wireless internet capabilities with a filter. Campus facilities provide separate housing for men and women. Student Government and the Director of Student Life organize activities for Boston Baptist students. Boston Baptist College has three intercollegiate sports teams: Men’s Soccer and Basketball and Women’s Volleyball. Intramural co-ed sports are also available.
