Bosaso College (BC) is a private university in Bosaso, the commercial capital of the autonomous Puntland region in northeastern Somalia. It is one of the newest colleges in the territory.
Overview
Bosaso College has its origins in the Bosaso College of Training and Computer (BCTC), a local vocational training college established in 2006 by a group of Somali intellectuals and educators in Puntland, including Abdirahman Farah Ali (Sudeysi), the university Dean.[1][2][3] Funded with assistance from the Muslim Aid (MA) international development organization, BCTC's collegiate staff is part of MA's larger group of educational programs.[2][3]
The College has a student body of more than 400 students, a number said to have risen three-fold by the 2008/2009 school year. 15 professors and tutors from the Somali community and other countries currently make up the university's teaching staff.[3]
Mission
Bosaso College aims to prepare its students for post-graduate life by providing them with the skills and knowledge required in the competitive job market. It also hopes to improve their ability to access paid employment opportunities.[2]
In addition, the university attempts to instill in its graduates leadership qualities such as self-reliance and ethical conduct.[2]

Distance learning
Bosaso College's distance learning program provides students the opportunity and means to study at home through the use of interactive materials such as the internet, video, CDs and tapes.[7]
Partnered with Bircham International University and Cambridge International College, BC offers its distance learning pupils diplomas, Bachelor's degrees, Master's degrees and Ph.D. in various subjects.[7]
Bosaso College is also the sole agent of the Madrid-based Bircham International University in the wider Eastern Africa region.[7]
