Boris Denić

Boris Denič (born 12 September 1967) is a Slovenian handball coach and former player (he played as a goalkeeper), who currently coaches the Slovenia national handball team.[1]

In December 2010 Boris Denic started a really successful project: He lifted Slovenia’s very young but talented men’s national team back to elite level, where it had been in 2004, when it had won the European silver medal. Denic brought a huge number of players who had won several medals at youth and junior events and created a well-rehearsed mix of experienced and talented players. Slovenia came in sixth at the 2012 European Championship to reap rewards of their efforts surprising all experts by their modern high-speed play and brilliant technical skills. The way to the top had just started at that time: At the 2013 World Championship, Slovenia managed to reach the semi-finals for the first time ever but then unluckily lost their two final matches to host Spain and Croatia to rank fourth.
