"Boogie Oogie Oogie" is a song by the disco group, A Taste of Honey. Released from their album A Taste of Honey in 1978, it became an extremely popular "crossover" song. The lyrics urge listeners to "boogie oogie oogie till you just can't boogie no more". It topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, the Hot Soul Singles chart,[1] and the Hot Dance Club Play chart.[2] It eventually sold over two million copies and has become one of the most recognizable songs from the late 1970s disco era. It also helped the group to win the Grammy Award for Best New Artist of 1978. It reached #3 on the UK Singles Chart.

In the late 1990s, the song was used in a national campaign advertisement by Burger King and was sampled by numerous rap acts. The song was also used in a campaign for Rold Gold Pretzels (featuring the actor Jason Alexander) in the mid-1990s. Janice Marie Johnson, a member of the group, recorded another version of the song in 2001. The song was used in the first episode of season four of Nip/Tuck and in an episode of Lucy, the Daughter of the Devil.

G.Q. released its own version of the song in 1979. The cover picture shows Janice-Marie Johnson holding a classic 1970s Fender Jazz bass guitar.

Pure Sugar's "Delicious" in 1998 samples Johnson's bass riff from "Boogie Oogie Oogie".

Wounded Buffalo's remix of Jamiroquai's "Little L", on the single of the same name, samples a portion of Johnson's bass line from this song.

Double sampled the song for her song "Driving All Night".

Keenan MacWillian, Sophie Bennette and Lara Jean Marshall covered "Boogie Oogie Oogie" on their Saddle Club CD Friends Forever.
