Bond Air Services, a Babcock International Group company, is the largest operator of Air Ambulance and Police aviation units in the United Kingdom. Using mainly Eurocopter EC-135 and Bolkow BO-105 helicopters, they operate 26 helicopters, including 19 air ambulance helicopters from 23 bases around the UK. Bond provides helicopter services for 11 air ambulance charities with 19 specially configured air ambulance helicopters. Bond Air Service's halso provides a police support helicopter for Police Scotland and operates support helicopters for the renewables industry. Bond Air Services headquarters are at Gloucestershire Airport, Staverton, Gloucestershire. This is also home to their EC135 flight simulator.

Bond Helicopters Europe also operates from this location, providing bespoke Design & Completion services. In 2014 they were contracted by the National Police Air Service (NPAS) to upgrade seven EC135T2 helicopters with new camera and mission systems technologies.

In 2015 Bond Air Services took delivery of the first EC145T2 aircraft, ordered the previous year for use with the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Services

Bond Air Services provides the following services:

Emergency Services - Bond operates, under contract, Air Ambulance, Police, and Fire Command and observation services.

Marine Support - Bonds provides support to maritime organisations around the UK coastlines. They carry personnel, equipment, and provide lifting services. They also service off shore lighthouses, provide marine fisheries protection and pollution control, and they support the British Armed Forces.

Media Services - Bond provides media support in film production, television programming, and covers watersports.

Executive Air Charter- Bond provides executive air charters with up to 6 people per aircraft.

Aerial Work - Bond provides load lifting and placement services (up to 4,000 kg), powerline and pipeline patrol and inspection, geographic survey and aerial photography services.

Prince William

From mid 2015, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge will be formally an employee of Bond, when he trains for and pilots helicopters with the East Anglian Air Ambulance. His wage will be donated back to the Air Ambulance. [1]

Incident

On 29 November 2013 G-SPAO, an EC-135T-2 operated by Bond on behalf of Police Scotland, crash-landed onto the roof of a pub in Glasgow, killing all three people on board and six in the building.[2][3]
