The Bolognesi Province is one of 20 provinces of the Ancash Region of Peru.

Geography

The area of the province comprises parts of three Andean mountain ranges with snow-covered mountains: the Cordillera Blanca, the Wallanka mountain range and the Waywash mountain range. Some of the highest peaks of the province are listed below:[1]

Ethnic groups

The province is inhabited by indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Spanish is the language which the majority of the population (84.05%) learnt to speak in childhood, 15.43% of the residents started speaking using the Quechua language (2007 Peru Census).[2]
