Bojan Zajić (Serbian Cyrillic: Бојан Зајић; born 17 June 1980) is a Serbian professional footballer who plays for Norwegian club Sarpsborg 08. He previously spent seven seasons at Vålerenga.
Club career
Born in Kruševac, Zajić came through the youth system of his hometown club Napredak, making his first team debut in 1998. After good performances during the 2000–01 season, he was transferred to Obilić in the summer of 2001. Zajić made 110 league appearances and scored 10 goals for the Knights, before leaving the club in the 2006 winter transfer window, due to the club's financial problems. He then joined BASK, playing in the second tier until the end of the 2005–06 season.
In July 2006, Zajić signed a four-year contract with Partizan.[1] Despite a turbulent period in the club's history, Zajić showed solid performances during the 2006–07 season and was one of the best players on the team.
In the second half of 2007, Zajić moved to Norwegian club Vålerenga, initially on loan. In the following years, he became one of the team's most important players, making 143 league appearances and scoring 26 goals. In January 2014, Zajić signed a contract with Sarpsborg 08.
International career
Zajić played one match for the national team of Serbia and Montenegro at the 2004 Kirin Cup against Slovakia. He also made one appearance for the Serbian national team in a friendly match against Poland in December 2008.
