Plot

The episode begins with Kitty, Donna, and Fez recording an audio letter for Eric, who is teaching abroad in Africa. They are summarizing everything that had happened since he left one month ago. As soon as Eric left for the airport, Red and Kitty began to search the basement for any secret stashes left by Eric and his friends, finding three bags in the process. Red takes the third bag upstairs for Kitty to flush, only to discover that Kitty decided to experiment and try the stash herself just to see what the big deal was. Red also throws at least one of Eric's hand-crafted models out as well.

Also on the tape was the aftermath of Hyde and Jackie, after Hyde found Jackie and Kelso together in an apartment in Chicago. Kelso is constantly looking over his shoulder, out of fear that Hyde could arrive any minute and beat him up. Instead, Jackie shows up and is angry at Kelso for his actions, revealing that she gave up her job and moved back to Point Place in an attempt to get Hyde back. In the final past sequence, Kelso, Fez, Donna, and Charlie are hanging out at the water tower. Everyone's so fond of Charlie, who says he is finally glad to know his place in life; immediately upon saying that, Charlie falls off the water tower and dies. The water tower is then renamed to "The Charlie Richardson Memorial Water Tower".

In the present, Kitty is constantly getting Red to tell Eric that he misses him on the tape, but Red instead talks about throwing away his toys and how disappointed Red was with Eric's lack of athletic skills. It's not until Kitty hides the tape recorder that Red says he misses Eric, not knowing Kitty is recording his words.

Also in the present, Hyde finally comes back after spending a month in Las Vegas. Upon seeing Kelso, Hyde responds by punching him in the face and refuses to hear any explanation that Jackie can have for her actions. Later, Kelso tells Jackie that Hyde was driving up to Chicago to propose to her, which leads to Jackie and Hyde talking things over and Hyde saying that he isn't ready to be married yet, which Jackie accepts. At that moment, a woman appears at the door and Hyde says she is a stripper named Samantha that he met while out in Las Vegas. The episode ends with Samantha revealing that her and Hyde got married while he was in Las Vegas.
