Bodmin Community Hospital run by Peninsula Community Health for the NHS, is a relatively small hospital in Bodmin, Cornwall, United Kingdom and offers a number of in-patient beds.
The hospital also has a minor injury unit, X-ray department, and a range of outpatient clinics are also held on site.
Bodmin NHS Treatment Centre run by Ramsay Health Care, opened in January 2006. It is a purpose-built facility designed to provide facilities and equipment for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of conditions on a day case basis.
The hospital does not contain an accident and emergency department but does contain a minor injuries unit (open 8 am to 10 pm). It is located approximately 200 metres from the treatment centre within the same grounds.
The nearest public train station is at Bodmin Parkway.
History
The Bodmin Community Hospital and the Bodmin Treatment Centre were both built within the grounds of the St. Lawrence's Hospital after it was closed in 2002. St. Lawrence’s Hospital, (demolished in 2014) was a psychiatric hospital which had been the subject of an enquiry into abuse in 1967.[1]
