Bob Barry, Jr, is an American sportscaster, currently working as the 6:00 and 10:00PM weeknight sports anchor at NBC affiliate KFOR-TV in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He also hosts the sports highlight show Friday Sports Overtime on Fridays at 10:20PM. He serves as the station's Sports Director. In addition to his duties at KFOR-TV, he is also host of the radio talk show "Sports Morning" on WWLS radio since 1993.

A native of Norman, Oklahoma, Bob graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BA in Radio/TV/Film-Journalism. He resides in Edmond, with his wife Gina and have four children.

Life and career

Bob Barry Jr. began his career in radio while attending Norman High School in 1973. His television career began in Oklahoma City in 1980 as sports director for KAUT-TV (channel 43), now an Independent Television station; which is now owned by KFOR's parent company Tribune Broadcasting (a subsidiary of The Tribune Company). He joined KTVY (now KFOR-TV) as weekend sports anchor in August 1982. Prior to that he worked as a sports anchor at CBS affiliate KAUZ-TV in Wichita Falls, Texas. Barry has hosted several coaches shows for both the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University.

Barry assumed the duties as the station's sports director, a position that was long held by his father Bob Barry, Sr., in 1998. Barry, Jr. and Barry, Sr. worked together at KFOR-TV, until his father's retirement from the station in 2008. Barry is very active in sports charity. He created the basketball team "The Foul Shots", consisting of KFOR-TV personalities, in the early 1980s and served as the team's head coach and general manager.[1]

Barry was voted "Oklahoma Sportscaster of the Year" by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association in 2003, 2004 and 2008. The Jim Thorpe Association awarded Bob the "Executive Council Service Award" for his positive contribution to the Association, and was also honored by the American Women in Radio and TV as "Oklahoma's Sportscaster of the Year".
