"Blue on Blue" is a popular song composed by Burt Bacharach with lyrics by Hal David, first recorded by Bobby Vinton in 1963.[1] Vinton's single entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart on June 1, 1963, peaking at number 3 on July 6.[2][3] The song also reached number 2 on the Easy Listening chart.[3]
The success of "Blue on Blue" prompted Vinton to record an entire album of blue-themed songs, also titled Blue on Blue, which produced an even bigger hit in the number 1 "Blue Velvet".[4]
"Blue on Blue" has been recorded by Paul Anka (1963), Percy Faith (1964), Maureen McGovern (1991), and many others. It almost undoubtedly inspired Röyksopp's song 'So Easy', an abstract instrumental song.[1]
