Bliss is a single released by Arun Shenoy on August 30th 2013. The accompanying music video premiered on GRAMMY.com as a worldwide exclusive first listen on August 26th 2013.[1] The single was released exactly one year after Shenoy’s debut album Rumbadoodle that was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Instrumental Pop album category at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards held in February 2013.[2]
Composition
The single is part of the Indian fusion project on which Shenoy was working on at the time of release. In production for over 9 months, it was recorded live across the world from India, Singapore and the Philippines, to the UK and the US. Shenoy has described it as a long journey back to his own cultural roots where he explores the rich lexicon of Indian Classical instrumentation. Conceptually steeped in ancient Hindu scriptures and mythology, the concept behind the music is also interpreted visually by art directors Roshni Mohapatra and Robert Capria (Actuality Films), creating an audio-visual experience of music, animation, artwork and packaging. The song also features GRAMMY-nominated arranger Don Hart and leading Indian flautist Ravichandra Kulur.[1]
