Blanus tingitanus is a species of reptile in the family Blanidae.[1]

Geographic range

It is found in northern Morocco and Ceuta (Spain).

Taxonomy and systematics

It was formerly considered a subspecies of Blanus cinereus, which is found in Spain. The genus Blanus was formerly assigned to the family Amphisbaenidae.

Habitat

Its natural habitats are temperate forests, Mediterranean-type shrubby vegetation, arable land, and pastureland.

Conservation stats

It is threatened by habitat loss.
