Black Camel Pictures

Black Camel Pictures is a production company based in Glasgow. Founded by Arabella Croft and Kieran Parker. They mortgaged their £200,000 home in Glasgow to finance production for their first movie Outpost. The film received a mixed reception for being a good film on a low budget and helped establish the company for future projects. Critics quoted "Barker delivers smart shocks and stylistic flourishes but his habit of breaking his own rules lets the film down...Still, who needs logic when you’ve got Nazi zombies...".

In 2009 Black Camel produced their second feature, the psychological thriller, LegacyThe film was awarded The Grand Jury Prize at the 14th Annual American Black Film Festival in Miami. This follows appearances as the Closing Gala film at the Glasgow Film Festival, the Tribeca Film Festival in New York and the Little Rock Film Festival. In the last 3 years they have gone on to Produce 2 more Outpost films with Outpost:Black Sun (2012) and Outpost:Rise of the Spetsnaz (2013). 2013 also saw a theatrical release of 'Sunshine on Leith' a feature film version of Stephen Greenhorn's original Dundee rep stage play. 'Sunshine' was Directed by Dexter Fletcher (Wild Bill) and Produced alongside Andrew MacDonald and Alon Reich of DNA FIlms. Black Camel are currently Co-Producing 'Castles in the Sky' alongside Hero Productions for BBC - 'Castles' is Directed by Gilles Mackinnon and stars Eddie Izzard Laura Fraser.
