The black-tipped cotinga (Carpodectes hopkei) is a species of bird in the Cotingidae family. It is found in Colombia, Ecuador, and Panama. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.

Population degregation

Due to recent destruction of lowland forests in Ecuador the population is declining, but is not yet considered a vulnerable species.[2]
