The black-capped siskin (Spinus atriceps) is a species of finch in the Fringillidae family. It is found in Guatemala and Mexico. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forests and heavily degraded former forest.

It has been obtained by Antonio Arnaiz-Villena et al.[2][3][4]

Carduelis atriceps

Identification

Spinus/Carduelis atriceps has been defined as a gray wash with a black cap finch.[5] However, other green morphs have been also identified with Spinus atriceps, but they apparently are Spinus/Carduelis pinus green morphs.[5]
