Bix Brent

Bix Brent (stage name of Ruth Anne Guise, born December 2, 1923 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania - May 1972) was a founding member of The Heathertones who sang on many recordings in the early 1950s. After graduating from Smith College in 1945 with a degree in music, she was awarded a piano/composition scholarship at Juilliard. After The Heathertones disbanded, Bix formed a singing trio known as The Couquettes. She also modeled, acted and composed music. At the time of her death in 1972 she was married to Arthur "Bud" Klauser.[1]
