Bit-Phalanx is a Netlabel based in London, which started as an artists and events management for unsigned performing and recording artists within the Electronic music genre in 2006. By 2008, Bit-Phalanx found themselves with a roster of around 12 acts, and made initial plans to upgrade to a Netlabel, which was eventually launched in late 2009.[1]

Upon their launch as a Netlabel, Bit-Phalanx released a compilation album, The Welcoming Committee as a free download on their website as an introduction to the label's roster,[2] and has since continued to release free EPs from its individual artists around other larger collective projects.

The first main collective project from Bit-Phalanx was their first commercially released album on the One Little Indian Records in the form of a full remix album, Fast And Cheap Mixes for their artist, Finnish Electro musician, HK119. The album is a collection of remixes of tracks from HK119's 2008 album Fast, Cheap And Out Of Control, after all the tracks were made available in their individual parts via HK119's official website as part of a competition for anyone to submit their own remixes of the tracks to be considered for a later release.[3]

Bit-Phalanx commissioned its entire roster of artists to remix one of the tracks each and compiled their own remix album of the Fast, Cheap And Out Of Control tracks. The original intention was for Bit-Phalanx to release the album through their own netlabel, but the album quickly caught the attention of One Little Indian Records, who offered to give the album an official digital release in 2010.[4]

Since the release of Fast And Cheap Mixes, Bit-Phalanx have released two additional EPs for the tracks 'C'est La Vie' and 'Space Pt.1' as free downloads from their website, giving the opportunity for other especially invited, non-Bit-Phalanx artists to contribute work to the label.

As of May 2010, Bit-Phalanx continues to release free downloads from their roster, as well as hold regular gigs and events around the UK and working towards further commercial releases.
