Bishungarh

Bishungarh, also known as Bishnugarh, Bishangarh, Vishungarh and Vishnugarh is a village in Tahsil Chhibramau and Kannauj district of Uttar Pradesh in India.

History

Until 1997 "Chhibramau" was the part of the Farrukhabad district but after the bifurcation of Farrukhabad District a new district Kannauj was created in 1997 and now Chhibramau is part of the District Kannauj. Kannauj is one among the most ancient place of India having rich archaeological and cultural heritage. The ancient name of this place is Kanyakubja or Mahodya (as per Valmiki Ramayana, Mahabharata and Purana) later name kanyakubja was changed as Kannauj the present name of the District. The Brahmins from this district or region are known as Kanyakubj Brahmins or KKB

Bishungarh village comes under "Assembly" constituency of Chhibramau and Lok Sabha constituency of Kannauj. Both Assembly and "Loksabha" constituency comes under unreserved category. [2]

Geography

Chhibramau is on National Highways 91 (DelhiEtah – Kannauj - Kanpur), Bishungarh is 8 km from Chhibramau . Kannauj district is surrounded by Farrukhabad District in the north, Hardoi district in the east, Kanpur Dehat district in the south-east, Mainpuri district in the west, and Etawah district in the south. Bishungarh village is located at 27degree 6min 43 sec N and 79degree 24minute 56sec E. On Google Earth search put Bishangarh for the location of the village.Local government directory has listed Bishungarh as Vishungarh and the village code is 1446687.

Language

Kannauji language (Devanagari: कन्नौजी) (also spelled Kanauji (कनौजी or कन‍उजी), Kanauji language) is an Indo-Aryan language spoken in parts of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Kannauji is closely related to Hindi, and some consider it to be a dialect of Hindi, while others consider it a separate Western Hindi language. [1]

Kannauji has two dialects or variants of its own: Tirhari and Transitional Kanauji, which is between standard Kanauji and Awadhi Kannauji is predominantly spoken around the historic town of Kannauj in the following districts of the Ganga-Yamuna Doab:

Kannauj,Mainpuri,Etawah,Farrukhabad,Auraiya,Kanpur In the non-Doabi areas, it is spoken in Hardoi, western parts of Lakhimpur Kheri and Sitapur districts in Awadh and Shahjahanpur and Pilibhit of Rohilkhand.
