Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School (BMCHS)[1] is a private high school located in northern Pasco County not far from Spring Hill, Florida in the Diocese of St. Petersburg.
General Information
Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School was established in 2003 and is celebrating its ten-year anniversary. The school was named after Charles Borromeo McLaughlin, the first bishop of the Diocese of St. Petersburg. Since he was nicknamed "Hurricane Charlie", Bishop McLaughlin is the home of the "Hurricanes", and their mascot is "Pelicane"(a pelican with a Hurricanes shirt). The school's first principal, Jane Moerschbacher, held the position until she retired in 2007 and was succeeded by Sarah Regan until 2012. The current principal is Kristen Kant. The school is experiencing continued growth and is known for its high academic standards, use of technology in the classroom, growing sports program and fine arts programs.
Academic Awareness
BMCHS is a one to one laptop school that delivers curriculum in a blended learning environment. Teachers deliver the curriculum both synchronously and asynchronously to prepare students to succeed in the online learning environment.
