"Biscuit" is a song performed by American recording artist Ivy Levan. It was written by Levan alongside Lucas Banker, William Pounds and Patrick Nissley, for her upcoming first studio album. The song was released as the opening single on January 13, 2015 through Interscope records and a music video was released later the same day. Musically, it is a Swamp pop song with punk rock influences, which speaking about kissing the singer's biscuit, which is actually a metaphor for vagina. The song gained international attention when it garnered approval from the likes of rocker Adam Lambert.

Critical reception

The song received positive reviews from the critics, who defined the song style as an effective mix among Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, Porcelain Black and Natalia Kills. Albumconfessions called the chorus explosive and suggestive, made powerful thanks to an impressive voice which immediately sets her apart from the rest of the young, bubblegum pop crowd.[1] Muumuse also written about "Biscuit" defining it a rowdy, grit-filled kiss-off full of sassy horns and gruff pipes, sounding like the perfect theme song for a new season of Mob Wives.[2] At last, Idolator.com also praised the song, calling it more than up to the Ivy's hype.[3] Overall, the critics found strong similarities to Not Myself Tonight by Christina Aguilera, Kiss It by Dev and Walk This Way by Aerosmith.

Music Video

The music video was released on VEVO on January 13, 2015.[4] It shows Levan in different frames. At first, she's seen like a witch stirring a cauldron like a witch. Then a puppet-like biscuit comes out from the pot, accompanying the singer in her sexy choreographies. At other times Levan is shot in the foreground, first with round spectacles similar to those used by Lady Gaga in her video for Paparazzi, then while she's wearing headphones and doing baloons with a chewing gum. Among the outfits used by Levan there are a sweatshirt on which is written "loser", and a tight red suit faithful to a Jessica Rabbit style. The video was widely appreciated from the critics, who praised the playful representation of the biscuit character.
