Bioscrypt Inc. a biometrics research, development and manufacturing company. It provided fingerprint IP readers for physical access control systems, Facial recognition system readers for contactless access control authentication and OEM fingerprint modules for embedded applications.[1]
Bioscrypt was purchased and became a part of L-1 Identity Solutions Inc., a large American defense contractor in Connecticut. According to IMS Research, Bioscrypt has been the world market leader in biometric access control for enterprises (since 2006) with a world wide market share of over 13%.[2]
On July 25, 2011 Safran Group finalized its acquisition of L-1 Identity Solutions’ Biometrics, Enrollment Services and Secure Credentialing Divisions.
