BiomedExperts is a publication-based scientific social network that allows researchers to collaborate virtually, in order to increase biomedical research. It involves more than 3,500 institutions in more than 190 countries.[2][3][4]
One of the most attractive features of BioMedExperts (as of some other social networks for scientists, like AIP UniPHY or ResearchGate) is that members receive automatic alerts - by e-mail and/or when signing into the web interface of the service - for publications authored by their contacts and by "bookmarked researchers", including authors that are not signed-up members of the service themselves.
BiomedExperts is scheduled to be switched off on 31 Dec 2014; users can transfer their publications to Mendeley using a special export feature.
