Bill Wise (born January 9, 1972), is an American entrepreneur, CEO at Mediaocean, and sits on the Board of Directors of The Picture House and The Advertising Council.[1] He was named one of Silicon Alleys’ top talent three years running by Business Insider[2] and won Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards for Technology in 2013[3]

Personal Life and Education

Wise grew up in a single parent household in East Meadow, NY. He earned his BS in Accounting and Business from University at Albany in 1994.[4] He lives in Larchmont, New York.[5] Wise started his career with the public accounting firm Arthur Andersen, where he became a certified public accountant (CPA).

Entrepreneurial Ventures

Wise has overseen over $4 billion in mergers, acquisitions and public offerings since becoming an entrepreneur. Wise began his career in ad tech as Director of Financial Planning and Investor Relations at DoubleClick and held the role of VP/GM there until 2002, when the company was acquired by MaxOnline.[6] He then was the CEO/COO at Maxonline until that company was acquired by Ask.com in 2004. At Ask.com , he was responsible for the Ask Jeeves’ portfolio, which included MaxOnline, The Excite Network, and Ask Jeeves Search.[7] As Senior Vice President of Products and Strategy, he oversaw the integration and strategy of these products, and helped form AJinteractive, which is now part of IAC Advertising Solutions.[8]

After Ask.com,he became CEO at Did-it, a search marketing firm. The company became an Inc. 500 company during his time as CEO.[9]

Wise then became President at Right Media in 2007, the world's first ad exchange [10] until it was acquired by Yahoo! for $850 million.[11] At Yahoo!, he served as SVP/GM of advertising platforms.[12] He then became CEO at Mediabank. In 2012, Mediabank and Donovan Data Systems merged to form Mediaocean.[13][14] Wise is currently CEO of Mediaocean.[15]

Interests

Wise currently sits on the Board of Directors at The Picture House and supports the Foundation for Ehlers–Danlos syndrome, a connective tissue disorder that he son suffers from.[16] Wise is an avid soccer fan, a wine enthusiast, and loves Broadway theatre.
