Biliran is an solfataric active volcano and a volcanic island located in Biliran Province of the Eastern Visayas Region (Region VIII), in Visayas islands group of the central Philippines.
It is one of the active volcanoes in the Philippines.
Geological features
- Rock Type: Hornblende andesite containing greenish and black hornblende
- Tectonic Setting: Biliran Volcano is part of the curvilinear belt of Quaternary volcanoes in eastern Philippines, parallel to Phil. Trench to the east
