Bilara is a city and a municipality in Jodhpur district in the state of Rajasthan, India. It is the administrative headquarters for Bilara Taluka and a market center for the surrounding agricultural area. Bilara is known for its sweet local language, and its religious and cultural events. Bilara is education hub for near by villages. There are many private hostels for better boarding facilities for nearby villages students.This town is also called as Mini Kashmir of Rajasthan.
Main City of Bilara is Trading hub for nearby area, there are many villages but other than small villages there are many farm house nearby Bilara.
Currently Smt Durga Devi Seervi is Chairperson of Bilara. Mr. Arjun Lal Garg is members of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Bilara. Bilara is part of Pali Lok Sabha and Mr. PP Choudhary (Seervi) is MP of Pali Lok Sabha.
Etymology
There are competing stories about the origin of the name Bilara.There is story that it was named after a former ruler, the legendary Raja Bali, as "Place of Bali Raja", similarly to Balirajgarh which means "Fort (garh) of Bali Raja". In 15th Century it was called as "Balipur"
Demographics
Bilara is a Municipality city in district of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The Bilara city is divided into 25 wards for which elections are held every 5 years. In the 2011 India census, Urban population of Bilara was 71,396. Males constituted 51.8% (36,974) of the population and females 48.2% (34,422), for a gender ratio of 931 females per thousand males.[1] Bilara had an average literacy rate of 57%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 73% and female literacy of 40%. In 2001 in Bilara, 13.6% of the population was under 6 years of age.
Infrastructure
Bilara lies on National Highway 112 between the city of Jodhpur and Jaitaran,[3] and is the terminus for a rail line from Pipar City.
There is a Railways Station at Bilara which is connected to Jodhpur via Pipar City thru a Broad gauge railway line. On daily passenger train is running between Jodhpur and Bilara. Bilara is last station. There is survey conducted by Railway Ministry of India for connecting Railway line from Bilara to Barr Railway Station.
There is big Krishi Mandi (Agriculture products) in Bilara for trading of Agriculture products. Main source of income of Bilara people are from Agriculture. Major Community of Bilara is Seervi and Patel. In Last 10 years due to non availability of underground water and no source of irrigation most of people have migrated to Southern states of India to do Business.

The historical temples
1. Shri Aai Mata ji Temple- Shri Aai Mata ji was an incarnation of Goddess Ambe Maa (Jagdambe Maa) on earth in 1415 (Vikram Sanvat 1472), Aai Mata Temple of Bliara has a continuous flame which produces a saffron coloured soot instead of carbon black. In local terms it has Akhand Jyoti that provides kesar (saffron) instead of kajal (Indian cosmetic made from lamp black and oil). [4] There is big fair every year on Chaitra Shukla Dwitya and Bhadrapad Shuka Dwitya of Vikram Sanvat.
2. Palace of Bilara - There is big Palace near Aai Mata ji Temple. This palace is built by Diwan of Bilara. Diwan was ruling Bilara and nearby villages, Diwan is also Dharam Guru (Spiritual Teacher) of SEERVI Community. Seervi Community are main devotee of Shri Aai Mata ji. [5]
3. Kalpavriksha - There is Big Tree of Kalpvriksha near Bilara. It is situated just 1.5 KM from Main City.
4. Ban Ganga - There is a very old temple of Dharamraj and Ganga Maa. There are two separate water kunds for men and women. Some years ago water was coming from these kunds automatically. These kunds are also known as Ban Ganga. This place is also a crematorium and burial ground of Bilara. Every year there is big fair on the Amavas of Chaitra of Vikram Sanwat. Earlier this fair was known as "Nau Satiyo ka Maila".
5. Raja Bali Temple - Raja Bali who done Tapasya and God Vishnu came in Vamana Avtaar and ask him to give 2.5 foot land . in two foot God Vishnu covered whole globe and ask King Bali where to put my next leg, so Raja bali told him to put on his head. After putting God Vishnu's lag Raja Bali went into Patala Lok. There is famous Temple of Raja Bali and his cave are situated near Bilara about 5 KM.
6. Harsha Deval - King Harsha (Harshwardhan) Built a small temple near Bilara about 4.5 KM from City Center. This is very old Temple.
7. Dadawadi - In Bilara a famous Jain Temple called as Dadawadi is situated i the heart of the city.
8. Other Attractions - There are so many Temple of Aai Mata ji near bilara in the proximity of 5 Km . Famous Temples are Raniya Bera Temple, Jiji Mata pal, Diwan Saheb ka Baugh,Diwan Saheb ki Jod, Dingdi mata ka than etc.
9. Stadium - The Seervi Moti Singh Stadium is used for sporting events.
