Adrian Harris,[1] better known by his stage names Big H and Big Hooligan, is an English grime rapper/MC from North London. Formerly associated with the grime collective Meridian Crew in the early 2000s, Big H is now part of the North London Bludline Crew, along with former Meridian members President T, (better known as Prez T) Paper Pablo, Meridian Dan, Bossman Birdie and 9 Milli Major. He saw his commercial breakthrough in 2014 as part of Meridian Dan's breakthrough single "German Whip", which reached number 13 on the UK charts on 20 April 2014.

Bloodline Family Collective

When Skepta and JME created the Boy Better Know label and left the Meridian Crew in late 2005. H and the other members of The Meridian Crew created their own crew/label called the Bloodline Family Collective, referring to the family ties within the group. Big H along with Paper Pablo, Meridian Dan, Bossman Birdie, 9 Milli Major, President T and Springy P (who is the group's DJ) now make grime music and appear on radio together. The group now make regular appearances on PulseLondon.net and Empire FM, along with other London pirate radio stations, where the spit lyrics over beats spun by Springy P, the group call these radio takeovers Bloodline Radio.

H is featured on nearly all albums produced by the group (such as President T's Back Inna My Face Vol. 1 and Paper Pablo's The Man, The Myth). H has also released songs on albums featuring all members of the crew. These include Bloodline Music (2006) (on which H had an underground hit with "I Don't Wanna Shoot An MC"), Blood On The Wall (2008) and Family Business (2010).

Biography

During Grime's formulative years, Big H, then of the Meridian Crew, was considered one of the most exciting young prospects in the urban scene. With pundits lauding him from a series of radio sets in the North London area and the most-watched Practice Hours video of all time,[2] Big H set about creating a sound unlike any other English MC.

Known for his distinctive style, H spent swathes of his life creating new music and "perfecting the flow".[3] In 2009, H released Street Crime UK.[4]

Following a hiatus from the public eye, Big H returned in 2012 to release "Mark of the Beast"[5] and begin to ease himself back on to underground radio stations. During this period, he began to promote the mythical Fire and Smoke mixtape, which he promised would be a 2012 release. However, following a succession of unknown difficulties, the album was delayed, forcing many fans on to popular forums to vent their frustration.[6]

In mid-2013, Big H teamed up with the recently formed Inside Music, signing an album and management deal that would see the highly anticipated album finally released.[7] Since then, Big H has found himself on a higher platform, working with the BBC's Charlie Sloth on a Fire In The Booth,[8] releasing Fire And Smoke[9] and achieving commercial success on Meridian Dan's German Whip.[10]

Feuds

Big H has clashed with many other grime MCs and crews, notably Trim, Roll Deep, Popek, Manga, P Money, Wiley and Scratchy.[11] In 2014, Big H participated in a conversational clash with P Money[12] on Lord Of The Mics 6.[13][14]
