Bibia is a town in Northern Uganda. It is one if the municipalities in Amuru District, the others being:
Location
Bibia is situated in Kilak County, Amuru District, Acholi sub-region, in Northern Uganda. It is located approximately 35 kilometres (22 mi), by road, north of Atiak, the nearest town in the district. This location lies approximately 18 kilometres (11 mi), by road, south of the Southern Sudanese city of Nimule, on the Gulu-Nimule Road. Bibia is located about 100 kilometres (62 mi), by road, north of Gulu, the largest city in the sub-region.[1] The coordinates of Bibia are:3° 28' 48.00"N, 32° 4' 12.00"E (Latitude:3.4800; Longitude:32.0700).
Overview
Bibia is a market town on the Gulu-Nimule Road. It is the first human settlement on the road, as one enters Uganda from South Sudan. It is also the last human settlement in Uganda, as one prepares to cross into South Sudan, while traveling in the opposite direction. As of July 2011, Bibia is a small but growing town, whose infrastructure is still in its infancy.
