Buthpur is located at 16°42′00″N 78°04′00″E / 16.7000°N 78.0667°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 473 metres (1555 ft).
This village name was Buddapur and somehow got changed to Bhoothpur. The village was named Buddapur as there were some buddist monks stayed at the village for some time and there were small houses kind of Gufas made of stones in which Buddist monks lived here.but no evidence of this history
