Bharat Patel
Bharat Patel or Bharatkumar Patel, born 16 April 1952,[1] was the Attorney General of Zimbabwe in March 2004[2] and May 2008.[3] In July 2009 he was Public Prosecutor of Zimbabwe.[1] In early 2011 the European Union described him as "Former Acting Attorney General, Justice, Hon."[4]
The member states of the European Union both (i) prevent the entry of Patel to, or his transit through, their territories and (ii) freeze any funds or economic resources he may have in the EU, because he is judged to be "Engaged in activities that seriously undermine democracy, respect for human rights and the rule of law."[4]
